Chills and Changes

Lots has been going on this week. My first bit of news is that I have been given another role too add to my duties - I'm now responsible for customer service enquiries on the Norse Projects website. Nothing major, but still interesting and important, as I'm sure I will need to learn how to do this properly for the future.

We have had a few meetings at the office this week. Over the next few weeks we need to start planning for Christmas - exciting, but no doubt stressful! I got some good feedback for the Norse Store website too. Sales are good and the site is looking great (probably because I'm on the front page every week? Somehow I think not.)

Anyway, this caught my attention as I was walking home from the office on Monday:

An interesting rolling video about climate change and being environmentally friendly. The cool thing is, it's projected onto the town hall. Pretty clever if you ask me.

Today I was out at the warehouse sorting out stock and helping to organise a new area for webshop packing and returns etc. While I was there I picked up a few goodies to make sure my fingers and toes don't fall off this winter.

Props to Bjorn for hooking me up with the boots a few weeks ago - they have already proved they are going to be a necessity.

I will leave you with a picture of what I'm currently tucking into:

AW11 Lookbook

Around a month ago I posted about when I helped out at the Norse Projects AW11 Lookbook photoshoot (here). A few weeks ago it was published - here are some of the images we went with.

Everyone was pleased the way it turned out and it got quite a lot of coverage on various fashion / culture / shop blogs, so it was an overall success.

I have also been doing a lot of work on the Norse Store blog recently. Two of the more interesting pieces I've written can be found here:

Firstly, I wrote about this seasons Norse Projects x Oi Polloi collaboration (the knits have been incredibly popular) which features some good stories behind some of the pieces - including a brown knit made from the wool of brown sheep rather than going through a dye process! The post is here.

And secondly, I was walking around the city last weekend and wanted to write about the trend of hiking boots. So I did! It is focused around a family run Italian footwear company who have rocketed to mainstream popularity in the past 18 months. Read about that here.

Yesterday, I booked my plane tickets to come back to the UK for Christmas / New Year which was very exciting. I'm sure it will be here in no time at all. This past week the weather has turned from 'okay I should wear a jacket' to 'i need to buy some gloves and a scarf right now!'. This means that Autumn has landed and Winter is fast approaching.

Wild in the Park

I got my latest fisheye film developed yesterday. I took some photos of the Volcom skate comp last weekend, and here they are.

Here's Volcom's video from the event:

Enjoy!

Bacon Strips

Here's a few things I've been working on recently.

Firstly, I wrote the latest newsletter for Norse Projects. Check it out here:

Secondly, I wrote a review about a footwear brand called Common Projects on the Norse Store blog. Check that out here:

And thirdly, I've been splattered across the Norse Store home page this weekend.

We have been busy moving things around in the apartment this week. We have a new room mate moving in today, and the showroom needed to be sorted out! We went through box after box of sample clothing and footwear and found some interesting goodies.

In other news, Daniel from Nike SB was here this week doing some final sales meetings in our apartment. I was cheeky enough to snap a picture of 3 shoes from the SS12 line, in stores next summer.

A few weeks ago, Michael and Bjorn cooked a traditional Danish meal for us.

I don't know what it is called and I certainly can't pronounce it, but basically it was thick cut fried bacon (with a pinch of salt on the top), with new potatoes and a creamy-herby sauce. So good!

Hypebeast Coverage

Just a quick update. This week, me and Nick are running a contest on American fashion / culture blog HYPEBEAST. Last week, I chose an outfit and we got some photos taken. Yesterday, the competition went online - check it out here. Basically, we giving people the chance to win $660 worth of new gear! Simple.

I've been really stoked on the response! The post has had just under 7000 views and our Norse Store Facebook page has had over 1000 new 'likes' - all in 24 hours.

In other Hypebeast related news... my crotch is famous.

Cool!

This weekend is Volcom's Wild in the Park skateboard competition in Copenhagen. It's a European final, with a Pro/Am field, with the winner getting €1100 prize money. I hope to take a few snaps and they will appear on here next week. Should be good!

And lastly, I've been drafted into the Streetmachine website too...

Yeah I guess you get the idea by now.

Exciting Weekends

I haven't abandoned this blog! These past two weeks have been super busy in the office and I haven't got internet in the apartment so I haven't been able to post. Anyways, last weekend Ellie came to visit. We did all the tourist stuff (which I hadn't done yet!) like going to Tivoli Gardens (the theme park) and going on a canal tour of the city. So much fun! Then this weekend just gone I was in Amsterdam with friends from University. A highlight has to be Amsterdam Dungeons - live actors and a roller coaster at the end!

Work has been full of exciting stuff. Alongside the usual website stuff, newsletters and blog posts, I have been doing some other things as well. Last Monday I was the mannequin for a production meeting for Norse Projects Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Basically, I tried on over 100 pieces and they talked about what was good about it, how it fitted, and whether they wanted / needed to change certain details etc.

I have also had photos taken for the website. Right now, you can see my bum on the home page in the Norse Projects pants, with two more promos below it.

I am not a model. I'm just one of the only ones in the office who can probably afford to spend 20 minutes doing something like this before getting back to other work! On the subject of modelling, I just finished doing some shots for the Streetmachine website - I will post about that on here soon enough.

Next week, Norse Store are doing a giveaway for American fashion/culture blog Hypebeast. These guys have a huge reputation and it's great that we have an opportunity like this. I got to choose the outfit - here it is at the photoshoot with Niki...

I also helped out on the Norse Projects Autumn/Winter 2011 (current season) lookbook this morning. We woke up at 6.15am and got to the spot in time to set up before our models arrived at 8am. We shot loads of looks, and I did some general helping out with getting products prepared to be shot and styling.

We had to call it a day when it started to rain around midday. We only had 2 looks left so it could have been worse. I will post some of the finished results when it's done. That's all for now!

Vans! Libertine-Libertine x Streetmachine!

I haven't really been around this week to do a proper blog update because it's been so busy here. However, a couple of things that are quite cool…

Firstly, I got 2 free pairs of shoes yesterday, courtesy of Vans! I met the team at Vans Europe over Copenhagen Fashion Week (check out the 'Gallery' post for info. on that), and they were kind enough to send me some shoes!

In other news, Danish brand Libertine-Libertine (who only work down the road from us), have teamed up with Streetmachine to create a chino pant. There are three colours, and they have a camo print lining which is super cool! The launch party is down at the store tomorrow night, so that will be fun!

As for the rest of the weekend… Etnies skate team are in town. They are doing a demo and a signing at Streetmachine on Saturday afternoon, which should be cool. I probably won't be attending though, because Ellie is visiting! We might go to Tivoli Gardens instead, so we can go on some roller coasters!
