Hypebeast Coverage

Just a quick update. This week, me and Nick are running a contest on American fashion / culture blog HYPEBEAST. Last week, I chose an outfit and we got some photos taken. Yesterday, the competition went online - check it out here. Basically, we giving people the chance to win $660 worth of new gear! Simple.

I've been really stoked on the response! The post has had just under 7000 views and our Norse Store Facebook page has had over 1000 new 'likes' - all in 24 hours.

In other Hypebeast related news... my crotch is famous.

Cool!

This weekend is Volcom's Wild in the Park skateboard competition in Copenhagen. It's a European final, with a Pro/Am field, with the winner getting €1100 prize money. I hope to take a few snaps and they will appear on here next week. Should be good!

And lastly, I've been drafted into the Streetmachine website too...

Yeah I guess you get the idea by now.

Exciting Weekends

I haven't abandoned this blog! These past two weeks have been super busy in the office and I haven't got internet in the apartment so I haven't been able to post. Anyways, last weekend Ellie came to visit. We did all the tourist stuff (which I hadn't done yet!) like going to Tivoli Gardens (the theme park) and going on a canal tour of the city. So much fun! Then this weekend just gone I was in Amsterdam with friends from University. A highlight has to be Amsterdam Dungeons - live actors and a roller coaster at the end!

Work has been full of exciting stuff. Alongside the usual website stuff, newsletters and blog posts, I have been doing some other things as well. Last Monday I was the mannequin for a production meeting for Norse Projects Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Basically, I tried on over 100 pieces and they talked about what was good about it, how it fitted, and whether they wanted / needed to change certain details etc.

I have also had photos taken for the website. Right now, you can see my bum on the home page in the Norse Projects pants, with two more promos below it.

I am not a model. I'm just one of the only ones in the office who can probably afford to spend 20 minutes doing something like this before getting back to other work! On the subject of modelling, I just finished doing some shots for the Streetmachine website - I will post about that on here soon enough.

Next week, Norse Store are doing a giveaway for American fashion/culture blog Hypebeast. These guys have a huge reputation and it's great that we have an opportunity like this. I got to choose the outfit - here it is at the photoshoot with Niki...

I also helped out on the Norse Projects Autumn/Winter 2011 (current season) lookbook this morning. We woke up at 6.15am and got to the spot in time to set up before our models arrived at 8am. We shot loads of looks, and I did some general helping out with getting products prepared to be shot and styling.

We had to call it a day when it started to rain around midday. We only had 2 looks left so it could have been worse. I will post some of the finished results when it's done. That's all for now!

Vans! Libertine-Libertine x Streetmachine!

I haven't really been around this week to do a proper blog update because it's been so busy here. However, a couple of things that are quite cool…

Firstly, I got 2 free pairs of shoes yesterday, courtesy of Vans! I met the team at Vans Europe over Copenhagen Fashion Week (check out the 'Gallery' post for info. on that), and they were kind enough to send me some shoes!

In other news, Danish brand Libertine-Libertine (who only work down the road from us), have teamed up with Streetmachine to create a chino pant. There are three colours, and they have a camo print lining which is super cool! The launch party is down at the store tomorrow night, so that will be fun!

As for the rest of the weekend… Etnies skate team are in town. They are doing a demo and a signing at Streetmachine on Saturday afternoon, which should be cool. I probably won't be attending though, because Ellie is visiting! We might go to Tivoli Gardens instead, so we can go on some roller coasters!

It's Always Nice To Dream

Work has been busy, as usual. New stock for Autumn / Winter 2011 has been coming up to the office for photoshoots everyday, and things are getting pretty hectic! I have been helping Michael out with the photoshoots - doing all the time consuming stuff like steaming and taking tags off the garments - which means that we can get through the product quicker. Alongside this, I have been maintaining the general upkeep of the site, and in particular, looking at Google Analytics and doing some serious number crunching! For those of you who have never used Google Analytics before - it is fascinating. It tells you pretty much everything you can imagine about how consumers behave on your website. EVERYTHING.

On Friday, we published a new Norse Projects newsletter, which I wrote!

Please check it out HERE.

In addition to this, today I started a new series for the Norse Store Blog, titled "Dress Yourself". I'm going to ask people in the office to pick out some gear from Norse Store, make an outfit and say why you chose each piece.

Here is the first post... and it's my picks! Check out the post HERE.

It's always nice to dream.

Photoshoot #2 // STRØM.

That's right, I was drafted in as a 'model' again this morning. (After the success of the Comme des Garcons shoot... the brogues have been flying!) We have been photographing the new Norse Projects AW11 collection in the office, and the wool shirts are a really strong style so we thought we'd give it a bit of promotion on the web!

If you go to Norse Store right now, you can see me sporting one of the new wool shirts. (You can also get a matching tie!).

In other news, last night me and Michael went to check out STRØM, which is a free electronic music festival running all this week. Last night there was a party on one of the Metro trains going around the city - live DJs and everything! We couldn't find the train so instead we went to Culture Box (a small live music venue) and then hooked up with some people and went to another bar in the city. We played table football against some Danish girls then went home! (I lost).

We have been super busy in the office for the past few days, and it's going to be similar for the next month or so as new product arrives everyday. It's partly my job to make sure we get it up on the internet as quickly as possible. Despite this, tomorrow evening is a staff party / get together, so we're going to have pizza, beer and skateboarding in the park. I guess it is time to learn how to skateboard... finally.

I have been taking pictures on my fisheye and have finished a film, so I will hopefully get those pictures developed and will have some on here by next week!

Tom des Garçons

If you take a look at the Norse Store website (www.norsestore.com) right now, you will see me sporting some of the new Comme des Garçons collection: Junya Watanabe MAN and Comme des Garçons SHIRT. The jacket I'm wearing in the top banner is around £1400! All of it is incredibly well-made and the attention to detail is unreal. Yet, to me, it's just a bit mental.

The Showroom

For those of you who don't know, I'm living in an apartment in the city. I am in the apartment with three other guys: one works for Streetmachine (Deano), one works as the photographer for Norse and Streetmachine (Michael), and the third is a rep for Insight - an Australian surf/skate/lifestyle brand. He also sells Etnies footwear and a bunch of other stuff (Bjorn).

We live in a showroom. As we are currently in the SS12 selling season, Bjorn has all his latest collections in the apartment. Buyers come by everyday to check it out and make selections for their shops. Here are some photos!
